Our Story
A Legacy of Excellence in Every Bean
Blue Mountain Coffee Estate has a rich legacy dating back to 1865, nestled in the picturesque Bababuden Hills at an elevation of 4,800 feet above sea level. The estate has been home to high-grown Arabica and Robusta coffee, flourishing under the lush canopy of red cedar, rosewood, and ficus species. This region is not only renowned for its coffee but also for the rare Kurinji flowers, which bloom once every 12 years, adding to the mystique of our land.
Nestled in the Baba Budan Giri range, Blue Mountain Coffee Estate has been a symbol of tradition, quality, and sustainability since its inception in 1865. Originally established by British planters Mr. Porter Hall, Mr. A.C. Cotton, and Mr. Oliver, this estate has seen a lineage of passionate coffee cultivators dedicated to producing world-class coffee.
Originally established by British planters under the name PH & Co, our coffee quickly gained international recognition, even making its way to the London market in the 19th century. Over the decades, the estate has passed through distinguished hands, including M/s Kothari Industrial Corp, Madras (1940) and Sargod Plantation, Chikmagalur (1997), before becoming part of the Hindustan Infrastructure Projects & Engineering Pvt Ltd under the stewardship of Mr. Rajeev Chandrashekar and Mrs. Anju Chandrashekar in 2006.
Located within the Bhadra Tiger Reserve buffer zone, our estate is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, waterfalls, and a thriving ecosystem of wildlife. The elevation range of 3300 to 4950 feet above sea level creates the perfect microclimate, shade pattern, and soil composition to cultivate the finest Arabica and Robusta coffee.
At Blue Mountain Coffee Estate, we believe in preserving the harmony between nature and agriculture. Our commitment to excellence extends beyond cultivation—it is reflected in our innovative processing techniques, sustainable farming practices, and dedication to producing exceptional, high-quality coffee beans that cater to the refined palates of coffee connoisseurs worldwide.
